John Holmes, the youngest of four children was born on August 8th, 1944 in Pickaway County, Ohio. He was the son of an extremely religious mother who was named Mary and an alcoholic abusive stepfather who was named Harold Bowman. On the 13th of March 1988, John Holmes died of complications arising from AIDS at the age of 43.
